About Us

2as1 was founded and is run by Susan Mac Nicholas R.G.N.R.M (Registered General Nurse & Registered Midwife). Susan is also a member of the INO and is registered with An Bórd Altrainis.

Susan trained in St. Vincent’s University Hospital, Elm Park, Dublin as a nurse from 1989-1992 where she continued as a staff nurse until Sept. 1993.  She then trained as a Student Midwife from 1993 to 1995 in the Rotunda Hospital, Parnell Square, Dublin, where she staffed both Full-Time and Part-time on all wards in this maternity hospital, between 1996 and 2005.

Since February 2007, 2As1 have been running high calibre and successful classes for both group and private couples/individuals along with a home-visit service for its clients.

Susan is also a mother to three young children, born between 2000 & 2004 and rates her experience as a parent to be an invaluable asset in her new career.

2As1 is now Susan’s full time occupation, her promise is to keep as up to date as possible to impart the latest research and recognised knowledge to her expectant parents-to-be.

Susan maintains her knowledge by attending regular courses, conferences and regular meetings & contacts with health-care professionals, representative groups and representatives of accredited pharmaceutical companies.

Susan ,as well as being highly qualified and experienced in every aspect of antenatal & postnatal care has also been noted by all clients for her unique warm and engaging manner of presentation delivery.

Susan was appointed the midwifery representative to the SMA Every Step Panel of Experts – an advisory panel which ran from August to December 2009, designed to provide mentorship across a broad range of issues which affected expecting couples and new parents on a daily basis.  Susan also regularly appears on The Morning Show on TV3, as the midwifery representative for Mother & Baby Week in October and subsequently the Pregnancy Panel. Susan has also had a number of newspaper & magazine interviews in relation to Pregnancy and early parenthood.
